ACC
Anti-Corruption Commission
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) was constituted in 2006 as an independent constitutional body to investigate and prosecute corruption in the public and private sectors. It has prosecuted cases at every tier of the Bhutanese civil service.
The ACC publishes the National Integrity Assessment (NIA) — a periodic survey of citizen perception of public-sector integrity across nine sectors. The 2022 NIA found that 58.89% of Bhutanese citizens believe favouritism speeds up service delivery, the headline finding behind much of the book’s Chapter Five analysis.
